Now your website is live. A designer you found online made the site. The website looks better than you imagined. Now 6 Months have passed and the site hasn't accomplished anything. You were expecting a huge increase in sales and customers. Why hasn't it happened? Why doesn't your site get any traffic?

The likely reason for your disappointing results is that your site does not show up on Google search results. Potential customers need to be able to find your site in Google when they are searching for the product or service you provide. What makes Google so important? Of all the search engines available to us, Google is the most popular. In order to succeed, your website needs to show up on Google to get some of that traffic. Your website must appear in Google search results.

There are simple methods to get your site indexed by Google. There are many methods which result in a site being indexed, some simple and some a little bit more difficult. Here are the three simplest ways: Google url submission, get a link to your website from a site or webpage already indexed, or write an article about a topic related to your site and submit it to article directories.

The first and least desirable method is to use Google's add url page to submit your website. Your site, after a long wait behind the 1000s of sites which may be ahead of you, may not even get added. Your chances for inclusion are much better if Google finds you on their own.

Another method is to get a link to your website from a site or webpage already indexed. Google will then (at some point) crawl that site again and follow the backlink to your site, hopefully adding it at that point if they like what they find. The more popular the site linking to you, the quicker Google will re-crawl them and find your site.

The third and best method is to write an article about a topic related to the content of your site. Articles have a resource box where the author's information (and a link to your site) is entered. Google loves article directories. When your article gets approved and added to the article directory, the link to your site will surely be found and followed by Google.

These 3 methods are simple and easy to implement. Once your site shows up on Google search results, web site optimization will be necessary in order to have the web site show up as as high in the search results as possible. It is absolutely pivotal to show up on Google searches. Your site's effectiveness depends on it.
